About this WebP to JPG converter

The converter decodes each WebP file on an HTML5 canvas and re-encodes it as JPG at a fixed 92% quality. That happens in this browser tab, so the file is never uploaded.

WebP images with transparency lose it in the process, since JPG has no alpha channel. Those areas are filled white before the JPG is written.

What the converter does not do

It only turns WebP into JPG at one fixed quality. Other jobs need a different tool.

No transparency

JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are filled white. To keep transparency, use WebP to PNG instead.

One fixed quality

The JPG always comes out at 92% quality; there's no slider on this page. For a quality you can set yourself, use Image converter.

No check on the input format

Anything you drop gets decoded and saved as JPG, even if it isn't really a WebP file.

They're filled white. WebP supports transparency and JPG doesn't, so the converter flattens it before saving. To keep transparency, convert to PNG with WebP to PNG instead.

It still converts. The queue doesn't check the file type, so any image you drop is decoded and saved as JPG.

Each file can be up to 100 MB. There's no fixed limit on how many you queue, but they convert one at a time.
