Questions

Nothing here is a sales answer. If a tool cannot do something, it says so.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Files are read with the File API and processed in the page. Some tools download a code library the first time you use them, but your file is never sent anywhere — you can watch the network tab while converting to check.

Is there a file size limit?

Most tools accept files up to 100 MB each. Beyond that, your device’s memory is the ceiling — a long video that converts on a laptop can fail on a phone.

Can I convert a batch?

Yes, with the image tools: drop several files and download the results as one zip. Images to PDF and the PDF merger combine several files into one document. Video, OCR and most other PDF tools take one file at a time.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, on iOS Safari and Android Chrome. Large video re-encodes are slow on mobile hardware.

Why is my PNG bigger than the JPG?

PNG stores every pixel exactly. JPEG throws detail away to get small. For a photograph the PNG is usually several times larger.

Do you keep anything?

No file ever reaches us, so there is nothing to keep. We measure page views with analytics, never file names or contents.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no account, no quota and no watermark. Ads on some pages cover hosting.

Which formats can you not handle?

Anything that needs a licensed codec your browser lacks — HEVC and ProRes on many systems — and 16-bit or wide-gamut image work, which belongs in a desktop tool.
